Charming, small vase, probably by a hobbyist, though one with a sophisticated design sense. The decoration includes some incising, and an abstract glaze pattern in teal and terra-cotta red. Marked “Rindt” (?) on the base, with a date of [19]59. Probably from the post-WWII pottery wave, which was embraced enthusiastically by the Bohemians and beatniks of Eisenhower-era America, along with jazz, Kerouac, and the color black.
