Risely Jug

$125.00

American artist and designer John Risley (1919-2001) was a pillar of the mid-20th-century American crafts movement, which merged functional craft with fine art. With his wife, ceramicist Mary Kring Risley, he built a home in Middletown, Connecticut in which almost everything was made by hand. Risley was a professor at Wesleyan University from 1954 - 1988. This lovely vessel has a wider mouth than a traditional jug, making it suitable for use as a vase.
