Original lobby card for Domani è troppo tardi (internationally released as Tomorrow Is Too Late) is a 1950 Italian melodrama directed by Léonide Moguy. It was awarded Best Italian Film at the Venice Film Festival, and star Pier Angeli (pictured) won the Silver Ribbon for best actress. Angeli was born Anna Maria Pierangeli in Sardina; her life would be one of both glamor and tragedy. As a 16-year-old student in Rome, she was cast in her first film; soon after she was "discovered" by MGM producers, who signed her to a contract with the studio. She starred in American films with Kirk Douglas (to whom she was briefly engaged), Paul Newman, Richard Attenborough, and many others. She and James Dean were involved in a mad love affair, though her parents disapproved because he wasn't Catholic. After his death, she briefly married singer and actor Vic Damone. Angeli died in Beverly Hills in 1971, at the age of 39, from an overdose of prescription drugs.
